“I feel like I am playing with confidence, I have done all season. I’ve been playing more than I thought I would. I’ve wanted to cement my place in the team and I am back in the England squad, which I am delighted to be in. There’s a World Cup at the end of it. Who knows what’s going to happen? I’ve just got to be impressive to the England manager and hopefully be on that plane. In modern day football you’ve got to play in different positions. I’ve played in numerous positions apart from centre-back and goalkeeper I think. I feel I have got a good footballing brain and know the positions on the pitch whenever I’m called upon. Nowadays you have players that are versatile and I feel like I'm one of them. I've played in numerous positions and I think if you have a good footballing brain then you're able to adapt. I think I've shown this season that I can adapt and play well in those positions. Whenever a manager calls on me I go out and give 100 per cent and play as well as I can." I felt comfortable as soon as I walked back through the door. The boys here are fantastic, the players, the staff - everybody mingles together, so it is easy to come back into the squad and I'm delighted to be back."

"I've always wanted to represent my country, it's an honour to do so, and whenever I get that chance, I'll keep doing it. I've got to play well at United to get that recognition, and now I've had that in this call-up, I've got to impress. I've got to show the manager I should get a place in the squad."
