Ole post Arsenal game - he is feeling positive

“Probably a deserved point for each. Both wanted to win, no team deserved it more than the other. A positive start, positive attitude, desire. Now we've got to learn to make these 1-0s into 2-0s, 3-0s, 4-0s even, we need a second goal. We can't just put the brake on, like we did in the second half and let the other team come in. Southampton, Wolverhampton, now, we're getting the first goal and we need the next one.”

Ole is proud of the academy players

“Yeah, a great strike, a great counter-attack first. We showed the legs, the pace, a great strike by Scotty. I've never hit a ball like that.

”He's playing well. He's learning. He's one of the six Academy boys that started the game today, Mason [Greenwood] came on too. That's a great plus for us and something we're proud of and Scotty will only get better and better.“

Ole talks through the Arsenal goal and VAR

“Ashley [Young] certainly holds his hand up because he’s looking at the linesman and maybe hesitates a little bit. Maybe he could have put a block in - that probably would have helped David [De Gea], but it’s no consolation for us now because it’s a perfectly good goal for them. He probably should have kept the flag down.

”It made an impact on the situation by raising the flag. When it's that way, you could wait and then do it later.“

“There was a handball shout [for us] - it’s like loads of the penalty decisions that if the referee doesn’t make it, you can’t really go back and have it. But it’s a work in progress. I’m for the right decisions and they definitely deserved their goal today.”

Ole on getting a second goal in games and having belief

“We got 1-0 up and we didn't get the second goal that we wanted to get. That's what this team needs to learn: to be more clinical at both ends of the pitch. So many games, we have been 1-0 up, but we'll learn, definitely. I think today was a steep learning curve for a few, because it was a bad goal to give away, but then again, sometimes, you make those passes and we play out and it looks good and, today, maybe it's time that we learnt from it.

”You thought it was going to be one of those nights. Under the lights, you thought the Stretford End would suck that ball in, we'd get that win. It didn't happen, but the attitude and desire is there and the signs are there for us as coaches to see. That's a team with loads of belief and we just need to learn finish games off in a better manner when we're winning 1-0.“

Ole on Rashford

"Marcus makes defenders fear him with his pace. Sometimes he trusts his finishing and his shots - today he went for a shot, maybe another time he’ll take him on.”

Ole is feeling confident

“There are many things that we can look at and many things that give me loads of confidence. We can talk about performances but it’s the results that matter. You can talk about results, I can talk about the six out of seven games that were good performances. West Ham was below par but not as bad as you lot made it out to be.”

Super Scott on chances not being taken by MUFC

“I probably should have scored that header and that was disappointing,”

“There were a lot of different chances we had in the game and it is about us being more ruthless in front of goal now.

“I have said it in previous weeks we have to get more opportunities and create more. That is something the gaffer, Kieran [McKenna] and Michael [Carrick] are reiterating in the training sessions.

Super Scott reflects on a draw v Arsenal

“It is definitely a disappointment with different opportunities we had in the game and the way we started in the first 45 minutes, because we were right on the front foot and doing a lot off things right,”

“I thought we were good value for three points tonight.

“It is little mistakes that we have to start cutting out because they cost you games, and points in this respect. Everyone in the dressing room knows it is a tough one to take because we were on top.”

Super Scott says the team is positive

“We are Manchester United and everything is so well documented but we have a real good bunch of players who are a tight-knit group and the team spirit is really, really good. We keep everything in house and it is all positive.”

Peter Schmeichel wasn't sure about United's tactics v Arsenal

"It was a really weird performance. Sitting in the stands looking at the team and the shape it was difficult to understand what was going on, what the plan for the game was,"

"It was very clear what Arsenal was doing.

"In every game before today they played the ball out from the back, [today] they didn’t. Every goal kick was kicked up, putting pressure up to the Manchester United half.

"But when Manchester United had the ball it was difficult to see what the plan was.

"And one thing that Ole Gunnar mentioned, when United had the ball he said it was very slow, I can only agree with that.

"The way the ball is being moved around when Pogba is in the team is different to the pace the ball is being moved around when he’s not in the team.

"That is something I think they need to work on.

"If Pogba is playing in this team he needs to speed it up a bit.

"He was seriously slowing it down, in the first 25 minutes just basically playing the ball backwards. For a player of his calibre that was disappointing.

"I don’t understand what his role in this team is.

"Even when Ole made the substitutions and put Pogba further forward, not a lot happened.

Roy Keane is an Ole fan

“I think he has been brilliant, a good honest guy. It is hard work at the moment, but there are six or seven young players learning their way,”

“We are all very impatient, we want success yesterday, but you have to give the man time. He is frustrated, under pressure, but dealing with it. He’s a classy guy but no doubt he will be disappointed at not winning enough games,”

“They have given him the job. Support him in a couple of transfer windows. Are there more tough days ahead? You bet your life, but you need to stick with it,”
