    "I feel much better,"

"I have a scan in another couple of days so it'll solidify it then but I feel, comparing it to two or three weeks ago, 10 times better and for me now it's just about getting ready to build it back up to training and playing games with the team.

"I'm in a much better place, I'm much happier than I was about a month ago so things are looking positive."

"Everyone is just dealing with the circumstances as well as they can,"

"I've just been in my house, doing my gym and recovery work, reading books, watching Netflix, just whatever you can do to make the time pass really.

"There's not really anything that comes close to that feeling of being in the changing room and in the team in my opinion.

"So to be honest I'm not trying to chase that high. I had to have time off anyway because of my injury.

"But I'm fortunate enough to have a bike in the gym downstairs so not much in that sense has actually changed for me because I can still do my daily routine that I was doing."

    from his autobiaography

"United were under the cosh as the crowd got behind Ipswich, and they didn’t like it one bit.

"I booked Jaap Stam for a foul, as well as David Beckham, Dwight Yorke and Gary Neville - all for dissent.

"Cautioning Beckham almost got me into trouble. It was the first season of the new rule of advancing the ball forward 10 yards if a player showed dissent when a free-kick was awarded.

"In the heat of the moment, I forgot about the new law, even though we had spoken about it several times in our pre-match preparations.

"I was just about to allow Ipswich to take that free-kick, when I heard a buzz from my assistant’s electronic flag in my earpiece. I quickly realised why, so I grabbed the ball and walked forwards ten yards before placing it down again.

"United players moved menacingly towards me to protest, but I was ready for them, and flashed the yellow cards, which did the trick. The players retreated and got on with the game.

"The following day, the feedback from the United camp was that their players thought I was arrogant. But I think the reverse is true and it is United who believe they are above the law and have the right to bully refs.

"Sir Alex Ferguson glared at me as I walked off the field at the end of the game, but didn’t speak."

Another bit of media speculation about United ... the reason for Emilio Alvarez, De Gea's friend and goalie coach, being surprisingly let go by United this season

He apparently set a poor example to the rest of those on tour ... this from one journalist ,,,

"Solskjaer also took a ‘dim view’ of Alvarez’s behaviour during the club’s pre-season trip to Australia.

United’s squad stayed a six-star hotel in Perth that was connected to a casino, with the goalkeeping coach staying out at the 24-hour bar until well after 4am on one occasion – while other nights out followed.

While Alvarez did not break any rules, his fellow coaches were concerned that he was out so late and did not think Solskjaer would approve"

“The proposed tour hasn’t been cancelled, but it’s on hold until we can determine a timeline for a return to playing football again.

“Until we have clarity on when this season might finish and the next one starts, the tour remains under review.

“It may be that it will have to adapted, delayed or suspended, depending on what is decided by football’s governing bodies – but we have definitely not scrapped it yet.

“This summer, we were looking at different options with no ICC on the calendar, but we have not confirmed or announced any plans.

“The pre-season tour has grown into a vital part of our own calendar and an ideal chance for us to engage with our worldwide fan base.

“We understand its importance, not only in preparing the players for the new season ahead, but also giving fans all over the world the opportunity to see the team play in their countries.

“That involves global travel and, with the current health crisis, no one yet knows how long travel restrictions will remain in place – that is why we aren’t able to make any final decisions.”

"Pogba has absolutely everything to be a top player - great athleticism, super technique - but his attitude to the game is the polar opposite of mine"

"He goes out with one thought in his mind: "I'm going to show everyone how clever I am today and be the star of the show."

"My attitude, the way I was taught, was: "Go out and work harder than the guy you're in against and see where that takes you."

"He'd be an absolute doddle to play against"

“You’d be going away, you’d finish a game on Saturday, you’d win a game on Saturday, and he’d go, ‘Right, I’ll see you after the international break boys’.

“And he’ll go like, ‘You, you and you, if you play more than 45 minutes I’m going to kill you when you get back’.

“So it would be in the back of your mind, you’d be thinking, ‘Oh my god, I’m under pressure when I come back’.

“I’d have played 90 minutes and you’re walking into training and he’s sitting looking at you like that [furious], ‘What did I tell you?’ It was mad.”
