Pre-order RedNews272/273 Double Issue in May - we need our 350 OT regulars to order this, here's why

For RedNews to survive into 2021 we're going to need your support, if you can and are able, twice this month.

We will launch our subscription campaign for next season/year on April 21st, our 33rd b'day.

We don't have advertisers, so it's Reds who keep the fanzine alive.

    So here's first appeal/request (rt's appreciated)...

Whatever happens in next few weeks we will definitely release a double issue RN272/273 combined mag in May.

    We already have Ex-player interviews.

What we need is close to the 350 Reds who buy at OT each month to order it.

So today we are starting pre-orders for the double issue RedNews272/273 in May.

Our regulars at OT are needed. Or new readers.

You help keep the fanzine alive.

RedNews 272/273 Double Edition in May 2020 Print Edition pre-order at https://rednews.bigcartel.com/produc...print-may-2020

RedNews 272/273 Double Edition in May 2020 PDF Edition pre-order at https://rednews.bigcartel.com/produc...e-pdf-may-2020

This double issue RedNews272/273 will then conclude subscriptions for those who supported the sub campaign last year and mean we can then start afresh with RN274 in July or August.

Every order of this mag you can make, or sub from April 21st will mean we are around in 2021.

I realise RedNews will eventually come to an end. But I would hate it to be like this.

So thanks all who can help keep up the fight, the voice, and keep fanzine alive.

Thanks a lot Reds, there's a lot more important stuff going on, as the most important thing is that you stay safe.

“My family wanted to stay at my house for two weeks before that game they were so excited.

“The game felt different. It felt like the debut I made for Crystal Palace [in 2017] all over again. The nerves kicked in.

“There’s a lot of pressure at United. It’s just how you deal with it. You realise the whole world is watching, not just your fans.”

So the media are suggesting Pobga will get a new contract, even though he hasn't played for so long and we've had to put up with his agent touting him around and slagging off the club. Funny how life works. Suggestion is a 4 year deal with option to extend even further #yawn

"At the time that there were rumours about my potential transfer to Manchester United, they had recently won the Champions League in an epic final against Bayern Munich,"

"I was in the stands at the Nou Camp that night and thought that, if I were going to play in the Premier League one day, my club of choice would be United. Of course, there were other good clubs in England then like Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool, but United always caught my attention for everything they were achieving and the way they were playing in those days.

"Sir Alex Ferguson always said good things about me when I faced them, so I have a particular affection for the club and it would be my choice if I was allowed to pick any club in the Premier League.

"I remember playing against them in the Champions League, especially in two huge games that ended with the same result - 3-3 - one at Old Trafford and the other at Camp Nou in the 1998-99 competition."

Argentina goalie Roa retired from football as he thought the world was going to end ... just when we were looking to find a future replacement for Schmeichel

“At that time I was very attached to religion and bible study. It was a difficult decision to make but at the same time thoughtful – and my family agreed with me.

“Certain things happened that will never be known because they are personal and I could only speak to the most intimate people.

“Many things were said back then out of ignorance and I was branded a thousand bad things.

“The people of the club thought that I was going to go back and that they would recover a lot of money with that transfer that was about to happen

“Today, I still think that on a spiritual level it was a very good decision. But in sporting terms it wasn’t – because I left football at the best moment of my career.

“I could have progressed a lot, with great contracts and the possibility of playing in England.

“People will never understand it. Back then they drove me crazy, they called me from all sides, and as much as I tried to explain my decision it was very difficult for them to understand.”

“I played No 10 with Ruud for a season - and I loved it. He’s just a ruthless, ruthless goalscorer. He just lived for scoring goals.

“Whenever he did score or didn’t score, the first thing he would do when we got on the team bus after the game was see if Thierry Henry scored.

“And if Henry had scored he wouldn’t talk to anybody for the full trip home because he was so engrossed in being the leading goalscorer, not just at United but in the league, in the world, everywhere.

“I loved the way Ruud finished as well. I played with some unbelievable centre forwards. You are thinking Cole, Dwight Yorke, Sheringham, Solskjaer. There are loads.

“There are some unbelievable goalscorers. But, to me, Van Nistelrooy was the best finisher.”

"Sir Alex never asked us which players we should sign or never asked us information about players he was going to sign, but after we played Fulham one time in the FA Cup [in 2001], he actually asked us as defenders, would we sign Louis Saha?

"We all said ‘yes’ straight away. ‘I remember the season where he was playing up front with Wazza [Wayne Rooney] in 2006 and it was unbelievable; they were fantastic together.

"Louis was a brilliant, brilliant player. He gave me absolute nightmares when I used to play against him when he played for Fulham – him and Luis Boa Morte."

“When asked about my favourite goal, I always say the overhead kick versus City — but we’re talking, here, about the craft of goalscoring, how it’s about teamwork, movement, control and timing and a goal that probably few people remember sticks out for me,”

“It came versus Wigan, when Rafael crossed from the right and my timing was literally perfect: I got across the centre-back, got a nick on the ball and the ’keeper had no chance.”

This double issue RedNews272/273 will then conclude subscriptions for those who supported the sub campaign last year and mean we can then start afresh with RN274 in July or August.

Every order of this mag you can make, or sub from April 21st will mean we are around in 2021. We realise RedNews will eventually come to an end. But we would hate it to be like this. So thanks all who can help keep up the fight, the voice, and keep fanzine alive. Thanks a lot Reds, there's a lot more important stuff going on, as the most important thing is that you stay safe.

“The best advice I received was from Fergie. He’d say: ‘You’re working too hard’ and at first I thought: ‘What do you mean? Isn’t that what you want?’ But I used to try to run as hard as I could for 90 minutes and in the last ten minutes be tired. The manager wanted his strikers to keep a little bit in the tank, because that match-winning chance might not arrive until the 90th minute — Fergie time!”

For RedNews to survive into 2021 we're going to need your support, if you can and are able, twice this month. We don't have advertisers, so it's Reds who keep the fanzine alive.

So here's first appeal/request - Whatever happens in next few weeks we will definitely release a double issue RN272/273 combined mag in May. What we need is close to the 350 Reds who buy at OT each month to order it. So today we are starting pre-orders for the double issue RedNews272/273 in May. Our regulars at OT are needed. “Before joining United, I’d seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scoring all these goals by shooting through defenders’ legs — incredible,”

“I watched him in training, I spoke to him: ‘How do you know what the defender is going to do?’

“It was quite simple. Ole explained that when you shape to shoot, defenders tend to stick their leg out to try and block and that makes a gap. He perfected the technique. And it’s harder for the ’keeper because they don’t see the ball when it leaves your foot. I scored one past Joe Hart against Manchester City that way.”
