    Singing Section update

The following article gives fans an update on the Singing Section at Old Trafford...

The concept of a Singing Section was first raised by supporters over five years ago and received widespread support when Season Ticket holders were consulted earlier this season. The Club has agreed to support this initiative and will implement it from the start of next season.

Individual fans and fan groups were involved in the concept of a Singing Section but the Club made the final decision regarding the location. This was not an easy decision as we are aware of the impact on long-standing fans and we are doing everything we can to minimise the disruption whilst taking steps to achieve the atmosphere at Old Trafford that everyone wants.

Having listened to the feedback from fans and having sought the advice of MUST, IMUSA and the Fans’ Forum, here are the options for existing fans in N2401 and N2402, who have not already been moved or placed on a waiting list to move:

    Option 1
Existing Season Ticket Holders (STHs) in N2401 and N2402 who expressed an interest in participating in the Singing Section have now been contacted by telephone and given the option to move into this area.

    Option 2
We have created an area within N2402 closest to the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand. Whilst this is still part of the Singing Section it has been created for existing STH's who want to stay in 'J Stand' but don't want to be in the heart of the Singing Section. Fans who apply for this area, while on the periphery, should be aware that it is still part of the Singing Section (i.e. concourses and toilets will be shared) so the experience will be different to what they've been used to this year. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

    Option 3
Existing STHs can request to move to a different part of the ground and they will be fully compensated for the move. Many STH's have chosen to do this already. They have expressed their preferences to the ticket office and once the renewal deadline has passed they are top of our priority list. Contrary to what is being reported, we anticipate there will be enough seating options for fans in all parts of the ground and we will try our best to keep friends and family groups together.

To those fans who took part in the trials or who have already requested to join the Singing Section, thank you for your patience and we now ask you to contact the ticket office for an update if we haven’t already spoken to you.

Those who haven't expressed a preference up to now - please get in touch and we'll talk through your options.
