“I thought we were in control of the game for long periods. Although we didn’t have much of the ball, they didn’t threaten our goal too much. They managed to get two goals and we didn’t create enough chances on the night, so they probably deserved it in the end. We’re all disappointed. We started off really well. We knew Chelsea are a really good team who keep the ball well, and we were missing a couple of players tonight, but there are no excuses. They kept the ball well without troubling us too much, but when the chances came their way they took them. Congratulations to them.”

"Everything had to be played in to feet and we didn’t threaten their goal too much after that point. It’s unfortunate but these things happen. We still felt we had enough to win the game and had the players to do so, but it just wasn’t to be. There has been a great team spirit since Christmas. We didn’t start the season too well, but since Christmas it has been more or less the same team each week, and that’s helped a lot. We’ve been training really hard and it’s a pleasure to play in this team. We have some great players and it has been an excellent run for us this season. This was just a step too far. The younger players have to remember this next season and how they feel at the minute, and use it as motivation to come back stronger. If we start next season as we finished this one, I’m sure we’ll go all the way again."
