We do love this time of year. The annual Red News competition is usually nice and close, so makes for good bonus entertainment on top of the real life Cheltenham festival.
Its simple to take part and there are cash prizes up for grabs
1) Each day - you pick a horse for each race that day
2) If you horse finishes in 1st, 2nd or 3rd you get points (4th place will also get points in some races)
3) The top 3 points scorers at the end of the festival get a cash prize
Since it began its been a freakishly close competition with the top 3 places not being decided until the final couple of races of the festival. And horse racing knowledge seems to make no difference to how people perform, much to the frustration of some and amusement of others!
It's £10 to take part - and that provides the prize fund available to the top 3 points scorers. Plus a donation to Red News which goes towards the costs which are faced keeping the site and mag running. A few years back one of our forum members suggested the donation be included and the forum has been happy to include it ever since. We really appreciate the support. So thank you.
From each £10 : £5.25 goes on the 1st place prize, £2.25 goes to 2nd, £1 goes to 3rd and £1.50 goes to Red News
There'll be regular updates on the points scores, plus a round up at the end of each day, with some commentary on how people got on (both good and bad!)
