Red News Readers Manchester United Player Of The Season 2013 - vote here
Carrick has been fantastic, but RVP is second only to Eric in '96 in having an overwhelming influence on where a title ended up. Player of the year by a considerable margin for me.
De Gea for me been by far best keeper in premiership and kept us in a few games too. Honourable mention for Rafael, his energy is superb. Carrick & RVP haven't been to shabby either.
impact from van persie was significant, but we've coped when he was on his barren spell. In a way that we don't when Carrick isn't playing. so for that reason i went for Carrick. great season for him and he's clicked into a higher level that suggests we can expect that from in seasons to come.
de gea was a big consideration too. always chipping in with some game changing saves and don't have the worries about him that have been there in the past
and (finally) so pleasing to see young Rafael play so well. deserves recognition.
Carrick has been comfortably the best central midfielder in the country this season (I suppose Yaya Toure comes close on the days when he can be bothered), and his consistency gives him the clear edge to me over van Persie. Next come Rafael and De Gea. Rafael really should be on the short list for PFA Young Player of the Year, and De Gea wouldn't have been out of place on it either.
