On Saturday 24 August at 1.30pm, Iain McCartney and Myself will be at the National Football Museum in Manchester for the launch of our new book, 'The United Tour of Manchester'. There will be an ex-player in attendance but at this moment we are awaiting confirmation from him. The book should be of interest to most United fans and details all the places in and around Manchester which have a strong connection with United.

Join renowned football historian Tom Clare for the launch of his latest book, The United Tour of Manchester.


Over the years, the history of Manchester United has been well documented. This publication, however, is a Manchester United history book with a difference. It takes you beyond the pages of any previous publication, and indeed, beyond the walls of the club's excellent Museum situated within the halls of Old Trafford itself. It takes you out onto the streets of Manchester and beyond. You will discover the exact location that the original railway workers kicked that first ball in earnest on North Road, Newton Heath. This book follows them from their beginnings at Clayton all the way through to Old Trafford today.


The author will be signing copies of the book purchased at the museum on the day, alongside United legend Paddy Crerand.
